Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Playstation 3 Multiplayer Frame Rate Test

Subscribe for more gaming tech analysis: http://bit.ly/VGTechSubscribe A Frame Rate Test of the Playstation 3 version of the PvP multiplayer in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The footage was recorded from version 1.02 of the game running in 1080p output mode on the Playstation 3. The PS3 version exhibits judder issues in the multiplayer. What happens is that only some parts of the frame updates when a new frame is drawn. I’ve seen this happen for 3 frames in a row which would cause the user to perceive the frame to not be updating for 50ms. This means that overall the framerate will be perceived as lower than what the metrics are showing here. Here is an album that demonstrates this http://imgur.com/gallery/EYJ16/new. The black and white frame shows which parts is changing between frames with the white pixels being different and the black pixels being the same. Note that the frames were captured on a super slim so the black and white frame has the noise that the PS3 introduces filtered out. Pixel counts suggest that the Playstation 3 version of Black Ops 3 is running at a native resolution of 960×720. Here are the losslessly compressed frames that I pixel counted: http://imgur.com/gallery/vtnHF/new Please watch in 1080p and 60fps when possible. Stats: http://bit.ly/1iJukfq
